16:9 progressive CIF proxed by Apache 150 Kbps (overall 284 Kbps) wrapped in an mpeg4 media base format (MBFF, ISO 14496-16) and stream as a MPEG2 (DVB) TS

In order to test the streaming capability, I've used a small portion (about 600 seconds) of the movie Home realised by Yann Arthus Bertrand in 2009, copyright Europa Corp, publicly viewable on many web sites. I've added a specific page with all the disclaimer and additional informations.

The video here embedded is the sequence of 25 progressive images per second.
This size and bandwidth is extremely good for mobile television
It has a Pixel Aspect Ratio of 64:45 (1.42, larger than standard PAR 1.33 - standard 4:3 -- but much smaller than 1.7 of 16:9) in order to obtain the Display Aspect Ratio of 16:9.

If you see the banned VLC cone it means that your browser so not support the VLC NPAPI plug-in. It's normal nowadays.


The image above to remember that this page used to contain two different instances of the same embedded video, one doubled than the other.
The quality of the doubled one was all but good, with a heavy and noticeable backgroud noise. This is one reason for which decided to took it away.
Now I kept only the smaller (and original size) of these. I decided to take it away because when you run two instances of vlc NPAPI plug-in it is impossible to silent one of the two.
But as you probably understood this is not the worst problem...
To quiet the browser war, in which any browser does not fully implement the html code, they all decided to kill the weaker.
As it is written here the volume control within the embed may not work. About the volume parameter, they say "use it, but don't rely on it".

Containing two instances of the same video object, opening firefox and internet explorer on the same pc, the overall draining from the server has metered as high as four time the stream bandwidth. The aspect was about this:

The spikes becomes higher opening internet explorer. Closing it the drain about halves to this:

It is the half of before, but the 0.50% means 5/1000 of 1 Gbps = 5 Mbps. Even though these are spikes, It's a lot for four instances of 284 Kbps each on the same machine.
It means that's really unicast.

The video is a h264 16:9 anamorphic 150 Kbps CBR 25 progressive frame per second with 128 Kbps AAC-LC stereo 48KHz audio compressed with Rhozet Carbon Coder. The mp4 MBFF (Media Base File Format) is extremely lighter than TS: about 10 Kbps vs about 150 Kbps of MPEG2 TS. It is stream with the VLC TS (DVB) engine because FLV streamer seems to suffer looping problems.

This is a live streaming, not based on a slice downloaded material (such as Dinamic streaming ones are).
